Paulita
Meet Paula, a Long Beach native whose love for art began at just 13 years old. From drawing portraits and painting landscapes to running her own small henna business as a teenager, Paula discovered early on her passion for creativity and adorning skin. What started as a love for traditional art eventually evolved into a career in tattooing.
Specializing in Chicana, Dark Romantic, and Y2K Fine Line, Paula's work blends Southern California black-and-grey influences with delicate linework, smooth shading, and elegant composition. Her style brings a softer, modern approach to traditional imagery, creating tattoos that feel bold yet airy, detailed yet refined.
Her designs live somewhere between edgy and romantic. Think barbed wire, scorpions, and daggers intertwined with roses, sacred hearts, and butterflies. Inspired by gothic illustration, realism, and the rich artistic culture of Long Beach, Paula creates pieces that celebrate the contrast between strength and softness.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Dakota Jennings, Nick Smith, and Zefyreon, Paula continues to refine her craft while exploring new techniques and creative possibilities. Looking ahead, she hopes to expand into larger, more intricate pieces and eventually take her artistry around the world.
Today,
Being part of Alf's Body Art Studio has given Paula a creative environment where she feels inspired to grow alongside artists who share her dedication to the craft. As she puts it, "Working at Alf's Body Art Studio has been a breath of fresh air." For Paula, it's about continuing to evolve as an artist while collaborating with clients to create something truly meaningful.
